McDonald's Headquarters
McDonald’s Headquarters
As part of the Studio O+A team working on a new headquarters in downtown Chicago, I built graphics and production files for several large-scale installations. This perforated screen, located just beyond reception in the main lobby, features portraits of a number of important figures in McDonald’s storied past.
I created the composition for a wood-paneled wall by pulling branding, graphics, and typography from the McDonald’s archives. Many of these images were understandably low quality and in many cases required redrawing the asset so that it could be etched into the wood. Embedded within the wall are a series of penny machines that crank out a flattened penny, each featuring a different piece of McDonald’s branding.
This series of wall-mounted vignettes represent the farms from around the world where many of the ingredients used in McDonald’s menu come from. These aerial views are recreated with varying levels of material and are edge painted giving them a distinctive look and create an interesting backdrop to the adjacent lounge settings.
