Breuner Building Branding
Breuner Building Branding
I was the primary graphic designer on a project repositioning a beautiful Art Deco building in Uptown Oakland. The initial phase included naming and branding the building. Originally the headquarters for Breuner’s Home Furnishings, it has since become commercial office space. The branding takes a contemporary angle on the Art Deco look, with a custom logotype I designed, inspired by some of the engraved typography found in an exterior frieze just above the first floor. The monogram is two B’s back to back and situated above the abstract forms of chairs, giving a nod to the original intent of the space.
